"lets kill poor workers" - Delhi's Mayor
"Delhi's mayor wants owners of industrial units in and around the city to shut down a month before the October 3-14 Commonwealth Games to give the nation's capital a cleaner and "world class" look. After all, he says, "the Chinese did the same" ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The mayor, Dr Kanwar Sain, said in his appeal on Wednesday that traders and industrial unit owners should cooperate in the "national interest" so that pollution levels go down and congestion on the streets was reduced considerably before the anticipat ed influx of thousands of overseas visitors for the Games. "This will present a better picture of Delhi as a world-class city," he said.
Not surprisingly, the traders and others who would be affected if this were done see the matter very differently. Mr Praween Khandelwal, secretary-general of the Confederation of All-India Traders (CAIT), said he found the idea "strange".
He said: "If they are so concerned about pollution, why don't they provide pollution control infrastructure at subsidised rates to these industries." He went on to add that if industries could be asked to shut down for the Games to control pollution, the next thing could be to ask citizens not to move out of their houses to ensure security.
Dr Sain told this newspaper that traders should be compensated for any loss they might suffer. "I request the Delhi government to allow relaxation in taxes and permit them to operate longer hours either before the one-month closure or after the Commonwealth Games to make up for their losses," he said, adding that with their units closed, the owners and workers could "utilise" their free time to watch the Games "either on TV or in stadiums"."

wnt abt people's interest? people make nation. nation donot make people.
wht will happen to workers who work all day to get a little food before they go to bed?????? oops dey dont have bed, food, clothes even water and now no job for 1 month. y d hell mayor want to kill them just to present a false view of our country?? r v ready to make our poor workers who r the backbone of our economy die due to hunger?

oh ho hw can i forget these beautiful plans to protect dem?
- "relaxation in taxes" - dis may sound ok for industialists but wht abt poor workers who dont have to pay taxes coz dey dont even have money to fill their bellies?
- "permit them to operate longer hours" - wow again a wonderful plan but for d industrialists. more work hours more production more profit and more savings but wht abt workers?- backbreaking work, still no savings n during games sarvation n death.
- "the owners and workers could "utilise" their free time to watch the Games "either on TV or in stadiums"" - shut up! its so exiting. enjoy 1 month holiday den 1 more week for games wow! Mr. mayor has gone mad totally. workers dont have TV and even if they have who can watch games when dey forced to see their kids die in front of them just because our mayor wanted to present an utopian and impractical image of delhi?
plz for d sake of humanity live and let live
*plz correct me if m wrong, if m not able to undestand d views of Delhi's Mayor

Politics is a dirty game but still we can change it!!!
All of us at some point or the other call politics a dirty game played by filthy politician but what we forget is that we are the people who give them power so we are solely and wholely responsible if we are cheated. why do we blame politicians for our and our countries misery? why dont we raise our voice? why dont we work to bring the change? These politicians fool us and play with our emotions and still we elect them again and again.
